Soft Revolvers is an A/V performance for four clear acrylic spinning tops designed by the artist. Through sensors placed inside them, each top controls an ‘instrument’ in an electronic music composition. With their large circumference and role as musical instruments, the tops strongly evoke turntables, DJ culture and hip-hop. The resulting sound tableaus reflect these popular influences, moving freely between rhythmic consonance and dissonance.
